0059hrs on Wednesday July 18th Penn Yan Fire was dispatched to general smoke alarm at Keuka Springs Winery on St. Route 54. Chief Brian Winslow called on scene and conducted a walk around with law enforcement due to a previous burglar alarm received.  It was quickly determined that fire was visible from a window and the call for a full response from Penn Yan was issued.  Engine 1 committed to the fire with engine 3 and TA18 providing water, Rescue M5 provided air packs and lighting to the scene. It was determined that the fire was in the warehouse section of the winery and was extinguished in less then 10 minutes.  Due to building construction and heavy fire load with cardboard boxes and pallets in the bulding mutual aid was requested from Benton, Dundee, and Wayne Fire Departments upon confirmation of the working fire.  Penn Yan was on the scene for about and hour and returned back in service at 0227hrs.  The fire is still under investigation at this time.
