On Monday December 10 at around 09:56 in the morning, Dresden Assistant Chief Zimmerman spotted a heavy column of smoke that he called in and was going to investigate. Upon arrival he called in a working truck fire with a car involved in the Penn Yan Fire Department district. Penn Yan responded with car 9-0, 9-02, E-1, E-3, TA -18, and M-5. Both vehicles were fully involved upon arrival. Assistant chief Simpson took command. The fire was under control in bout 10 minutes, but the department was on the scene for a little over an hour putting out hot spots on the tractor trailer cab. Both the tractor cab and the car were total losses.
