Early morning November 19th Branchport Keuka Park Fire responded to a reported chimney fire on Sid White Rd.  The fire caused a small extension to occur which proceeded into the wall.  PYFD was on scene for under an hour and responded with Rescue M5, Tanker 18, and Car 9-0.

 
Corwin Rd. Fire - Mutual Aid

1107hrs the Branchport Keuka Park Fire Department was dispatched to a reported chimney fire on Corwin Rd.  Upon arrival BKPFD Asst. Chief Ed Hall reported a working fire in the attic and requested mutual aid from Penn Yan Fire.  PYFD and BKPFD personnel conducted a interior attack and proceeded upstairs.  Access was gained to the attic and it was found to be fully involved.  The cause of the fire was determined to be related to the chimney.  Penn Yan Fire was on scene for almost 3 hours and was released back to service at 1410hrs.  PYFD’s response included Rescue M5, Engine 3, Tanker 18, Car 9-0, Car 9-01, and Car 9-02.  Also assisting BKPFD at the scene were Middlesex Fire, Benton Fire, Pultney Fire, Prattsburgh Fire, Rushville, Penn Yan Ambulance, and Yates County ALS.

MVA with entrapment

Around 0900 on Nov. 16th Dresden Fire along with Penn Yan Fire (Automatic Mutual Aid) responded to ridge road for a 1 car MVA with entrapment.  Responding units were advised of deteriorating road conditions in the area and one on scene confirmed entrapment.  Rescue M5, arrived on scene and the jaws were used to extricate 1 patient from the vehicle.  PYFD was on scene for about 1 hour, and responded with Engine 3, Rescue M5, Car 9-0, and Car 9-02.

 
House Fire - Route 14 WLRFA

The evening of October 28th West Lake Road Fire was dispatched to a reported house fire next to Fox Run Vineyards.  Chief 29-01 arrived on scene and called for mutual aid from Penn Yan Fire, Penn Yan Ambulance, Benton Fire, Bellona Fire, Dresden Fire, and Geneva Fire.  White Springs Fire and Hall fire were also called to provide fill-in coverage. 

 

WLRFA Engine 2911 and 2912 committed to the fire with Bellona 62-PT-42 supplying the LDH.  Geneva Engine 1112 setup water supply at Beattie Point.  The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes and called under control in about 45 minutes.  PYFD was on scene for about an hour and a half.  PYFD responded with TA-18, Rescue M5, and 32 firefighters.

 
Structure Fire - Dresden, NY

Around 1545 hrs on Wednesday October 24th Dresden Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of state routes 14 and 54 for a possible structure fire.  Dresden Chief Ted Cox called enroute and requested mutual aid from Penn Yan Fire.  On arrival units were unable to pin point the location of the fire, if it was upstairs or down.  Shortly thereafter a small fire was found in the laundry room, the fire was extinguished quickly.  Penn Yan Fire was on scene for 45 minutes.  PYFD responded with Engine 2, Rescue M5, Car 9-03, and 25 Firefighters.

The fire was called in by an off duty Schuyler County investigator and a quick attack by both Dresden and Penn Yan firefighter’s limited damage to a small room.
